So to kick off my first ever Made It Monday – I’m going to
share one of my favourite products. Indeed this is the first product I made as
part of Katy Page Designs. I’m a total princess fan, and when I had the idea of
making charm bangles I knew they were going to be princess themed.
Beauty and The Beast Bracelet |
Now, these are made in a couple of different ways, as I make two sizes – an adult size bangle, and a child size bracelet which is slightly adjustable. The different between the two is the base materiel. For the adult bangle, I start with two plain bangles, which I then wrap in embroidery silk in a colour of my choice.
Snow White Bracelet |
The child bangle is made from a coil and a half of memory
wire. I put a loop in each end of the wire, and then it’s the same process as
the adult bangle – wrapping in it adorable colours of embroidery silk.
Rapunzel Bracelet |
The next step is adding on the jump rings – I add 3 spare
jump rings for every charm – this just adds to the unique look of the piece.
The child size bangles also have a jump ring through each end of the bangle to
stop the other charms sliding off.
Sleeping Beauty Bracelet |
Last but not least I add the charms – three for each bangle.
The first one I designed was actually for Littlest Princess’ Godmothers. I made
a Cinderella themed one with a pumpkin coach, a shoe, and a magic fairy wand –
perfect for the fairy godmother in your life! My snow white themed charm has a
hunters crossbow, an apple and a mirror. The Beauty and The Beast inspired
charm has a book, a rose, and a teapot and teacup. Rapunzel has a hair brush
(of course!), a frying pan, and a tiara. Sleeping beauty’s bracelet has a
spinning wheel, a crown, and a castle.
Cinderella Charm Bangle |
Since I made the originals I’ve come up with a couple of
other ideas, and I’ve made a unicorn themed bracelet (which has 5 charms on!)
and a hairdresser themed bracelet. I also made a pet-groomers version for Goth-Princess’
sister.
